About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptionally experienced and strategic Leader - Resource Management to join our dynamic team. With over two decades of progressive experience in resource management, workforce planning, and talent optimization, you will be instrumental in shaping our organizational efficiency and growth across our Chennai and Bangalore operations. This senior leadership role demands a visionary who can anticipate future talent needs, optimize resource allocation, and drive strategic initiatives to ensure our workforce is effectively deployed, highly productive, and aligned with business objectives. You will be responsible for building, leading, and mentoring a high-performing resource management function, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Develop and execute long-term strategic workforce plans, aligning resource capacity with business pipeline, growth forecasts, and strategic priorities across multiple service lines and geographies (Chennai and Bangalore).

  • Resource Optimization & Allocation: Oversee the end-to-end resource allocation process, ensuring optimal utilization, deployment, and rotation of talent. Implement robust systems and processes for demand forecasting, capacity planning, and managing resource conflicts effectively.

  • Talent Development & Mobility: Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development teams to identify skill gaps, develop talent pipelines, and facilitate internal mobility programs that enhance employee engagement and retention.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement in resource management processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices, leverage technology (e.g., PSA systems, workforce analytics platforms), and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on resource effectiveness.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership, project managers, delivery heads, sales, and HR teams to understand business needs, manage expectations, and provide data-driven insights for critical decision-making.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of resource managers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Provide coaching, guidance, and career development opportunities to team members.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate resource-related risks, including over/under-utilization, attrition, skill obsolescence, and project delivery challenges. Develop contingency plans to address potential resource constraints.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Establish comprehensive reporting frameworks and dashboards to provide actionable insights on resource utilization, availability, demand, forecast accuracy, and other key metrics to inform strategic business decisions.

  • Financial Acumen: Understand the financial implications of resource decisions and contribute to cost efficiency and profitability through effective resource planning and management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA) is highly preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 20+ years of progressive experience in resource management, workforce planning, or a similar strategic operational role, preferably within a large-scale, complex organization (e.g., IT Services, Consulting, Professional Services).

    • At least 10+ years in a senior leadership or management role, leading large teams and multiple functions.

    • Demonstrated experience in managing resource pools across multiple locations (Chennai and Bangalore experience highly desirable).

  • Skills:

    • Deep expertise in resource management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.

    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

    • Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

    • Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing future talent needs.

    • Proficiency in leveraging Resource Management Systems (RMS), Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools, and advanced Excel/BI tools for workforce analytics.
